Marcelo Shavier Nunes, the coordinator of Radio Lorico’s listeners groups said “the objective of this program is to share the sentiment about love with the children from the orphanage. We wanted to show them our solidarity through gifting books, pens and clothes. This is a small contribution to help facilitate study and education for these children”.
Radio Lorico’s listeners groups also read poetry and sang songs with the children. Abilio Soares, head of the village of Aitarak Laran attended the celebrations and told stories to the children. He said he was excited to have the opportunity to be involved and share his experiences with the children from the Dominikana Orphan Center.
Prezado Ximenes, manager of Radio Lorico expressed his happiness and said he was impressed by the “giving spirit” of the day. The listener group members had volunteered their time to take part in the Valentines Day celebrations. The members represented people from Lahane, Bidau, Becora, Comoro, Surik Mas, Manleu, Manumeta rai hun, Bebora, Aitara laran, Kampu Alor, Matadoru, Kuluhun, Kolmera, Matadoru and other places around Dili.
